Who We Are...what we are all about
The Knitting Den was started in 2005 by us, Bonnie Crossley and Susan Sanocki, two ladies with a passion for knitting. For years we traversed the area in search of good knitting materials, never able to find exactly what we needed when we needed it. So we went to work and started our own shop in the historic town of South Lyon in the heart of Southeastern Michigan. Our warm and cozy shop is located in a Victorian style home on Lafayette street, the main street of historic South Lyon.
Although The Knitting Den may seem out of the way, we guarantee it's worth the trek for anyone who loves knitting. The area is easily accessible from highway 96 and is centrally located between Ann Arbor and Detroit. See our directions page for detailed directions. It's closer than you think and we promise it will be worth the drive.
Since starting the shop, we've found much enthusiasm in the surrounding communities for knitting supplies and for advice and help in the fundamentals of knitting and crocheting. In addition to friendly advice for knitters of any level, we offer several different classes every month to help people reach their personal goals. See Our Classes page for information, class times and cost.
Most of all we hope you enjoy our shop. Suggestions and advice are always welcome in our warm and friendly environment.
Happy Knitting, Bonnie and Susan
